فوق نابلس تعيش واحدة من أصغر الجماعات الدينية في العالم. يرى السامريون أن جرزيم لا القدس هو الجبل الذي اختاره الله. يحفظون توراة يقولون إنها الأقدم في الوجود، ويصلّون بلهجة آرامية، وما زالوا يقيمون ذبيحة الفصح على هذه القمة كل ربيع، وهو المكان الوحيد على الأرض الذي ما زال يُقام فيه هذا الطقس القديم. وفي متحف صغير يعرض عليك أحد الكهنة المخطوط ويشرح الفروق بين نصهم والنص اليهودي. ولا يكاد أي زائر لفلسطين يعرف أن هذا هنا، على بعد أربعين دقيقة من وسط نابلس.
Above Nablus lives one of the smallest religious communities on earth. The Samaritans hold that Gerizim, not Jerusalem, is the mountain God chose. They keep a Torah they say is the oldest in existence, speak a form of Aramaic in worship, and still perform the Passover sacrifice on this hilltop every spring — the only place on earth where that ancient rite is still carried out. There is a small museum where a priest will usually show you the scroll and explain the differences between their text and the Jewish one. Almost no visitor to Palestine knows this is here, forty minutes from Nablus centre.

Called simply 'the blessed mountain' by the Samaritans who live on it. Fewer than 900 Samaritans remain in the world, and roughly half of them live here.
